Barbara Marks
Barbara Marks was born in Minneapolis to british parents who moved the family back to England. Educated in Cheshire and a teacher in Bristol, Barbara ventured with her US citizenship to the wilds of Wyoming where she began an art career in Jackson Hole, carving antler bone and wood. Marriage took her to the Pacific Northwest and ultimately a tour of duty with her family in Bahrain in the Middle East where she began painting the scenes which were fascinating to her. Presently living on Whidbey Island in Washington State, Barbara continues to paint for her market both in the Middle East and North America. "My work has been influenced by the many places I have lived and visited. Geographical and cultural differences are reflected in my art. I also like to create a sense of movement in my work conveying an exuberance of joy." |
